Our focus is Scottish Independence, particularly on developing policies which might be adopted by a new Scotland.
The site arose from a simple idea: to provide a central discussion area in which ideas could be proposed, challenged, and where possible backed up with references and examples.
With the current state of the major parties of independence – primarily the SNP but others such as Alba and the ISP, we envisage a role for independent candidates in future elections.
We aspire to high standards, such that ideas discussed here could be presented as a policy by a candidate for election and carried forward into government.
As such it is to be expected that there will be disagreements among contributors on which policy is best.
That’s fine.
As long as debate is civilized and respectful the more ideas are tested and challenged the more robust the resulting policies are likely to be.
Providing evidence for a position is expected – either by reference to figures, legal documents, or examples.
At present our site is in development and our researchers are still hard at work.
Please be patient and return in a few weeks time.
Forums have discussed and provided evidence for policy positions, and these pages give a written policy suitable for a manifesto.
If a candidate for election agrees with any of these policies, they can of course include one or more in their offering to voters.
We would ask that this policy development group is credited with researching these policies – please don’t take our work and claim it for a single political party!
However…
Policies from this site can be freely taken to campaign for Scottish Independence.
